Programme Intended Learning Outcomes
A graduate of the Business and Environment Honors degree from the Faculty of Science should possess competencies and characteristics that fall into four broad but essential areas: Scholar, Entrepreneur, Innovator and Global Citizen. This degree programme aims to fulfill an emerging important need in the corporate sector of Sri Lanka and elsewhere. Globally, regionally and locally, environmental issues have become very important in the conduct of a business as well its long term sustainability. Therefore, it is necessary for businesses to incorporate environmental considerations into its entire range of activities including reporting. Sri Lanka as an emerging economy needs personnel with scientific knowledge and skills to address environmental concerns of the private sector organisations along with the attitudes required for work in businesses.
