achieving acceptable scores in the local A/L examination is a prerequisite for being considered for admission to the Textile and Apparel Engineering program at the University of Moratuwa.
Textiles and apparel engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, development, and production of textiles, fabrics, and apparel products. Textiles and apparel engineers use their knowledge of materials science, chemistry, and mechanical engineering to develop and manufacture new textile products with improved performance, durability, and comfort. They also work to improve the efficiency and sustainability of textile production processes.
The B.Sc. Engineering Degree Program in Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering is the first of its kind in the Sri Lankan University system. The course is conducted over 4 years of study, and includes academic work in 4 levels, a 6-month period of industrial training, and a final year research project.
At the fourth year of study, students have the option to either select a specific focus area or continue with a general degree program.
